Georgia’s Bellamy yells ‘humble yourself’ at Mayfield

Georgia linebacker Davin Bellamy had two words of wisdom for Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield following the teams’ College Football Playoff semifinal on Monday.
Then, Bellamy repeated those words again and again.
“Humble yourself,” Bellamy shouted as Mayfield congratulated the opposition following the Bulldogs’ 54-48 win in double overtime in the Rose Bowl.
Mayfield did not immediately acknowledge the chants of Bellamy, who apparently was perturbed by the antics of the Heisman Trophy winner.
“All I’m saying is humble yourself,” Bellamy told ESPN after the game. “All the flamboyancy … I carry myself the same way, but humble yourself, man.
“Our wide receivers came back and told us that they were running their routes before we went out there and he was on their line. Just humble yourself, man, just humble yourself. You’re not built like that.”
Mayfield has come under scrutiny for lewd crotch grabbing and other incidents, leading to him rendering an apology after the Sooners’ rout of Kansas earlier this season as well as planting an Oklahoma flag in the middle of Ohio Stadium.
When speaking to reporters after the game, Mayfield said Bellamy earned the right to say what he wants because his team won.
“They can say what they want, they won the game,” Mayfield said.
Mayfield completed 23 of 35 passes for 287 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. He also caught a 2-yard touchdown.
Bellamy had two tackles in the win.
